Hello, Dear Reader,
Last week, I shared my dreams with you and some of my clients' dreams for their lives. (If you missed it, you can catch up and read it here: https://bit.ly/dreamsandthelifeyouwant.)
In that message, I wrote about the persistent, unwanted thoughts about ourselves, others, the world, or our current situation—that can hold us back from realizing our dreams.
Today, I want to talk about how LOVE is the medicine.
That may sound strange. "What does LOVE have to do with realizing a dream?" you might ask.
Well, LOVE is a shortcut to reconnecting with your true self—who you are beneath all the noise. Your life's dreams unfold much more effortlessly when you act from that place.
Let’s dive in …
I was recently on a weekly call with the Homa Bay Friendship Orphanage in Kenya. Harry Derbitsky, one of my coachees, Martha Moraa, and her Grandfather were there.
Martha's Grandfather, Nashon Aluoch, is 80 and a few years old and a church bishop. He’s among the kindest, most ca...
Hello dear reader,
Everyone has a dream for their life.
I used to dream of slowing down, being less stressed, and having more time for myself to relax and do fun things.
“That’s not much of a dream!” you might say. But back then, it was HUGE to me … and seemed practically unachievable. I’m happy to report, that dream came true.
More recently, I dreamed of making a difference in the world. Another deep desire was to be more impactful in my work as a coach. That dream is still unfolding.
Dreams, big and small, we’ve all got them…
One of my clients dreams of finding happiness after years of struggling with anxiety, depression, and self-doubt.
Another hopes for a fulfilling home life, with strong connections to his wife and children.
My ‘soulpreneurs’ want a full bank account that amply covers their living expenses—they dream of getting there with ease and joy.
So many wonderful dreams … and so much mental noise clouding the experience and getting in the way.
A wonderful person I...
David-Baya crouched near the edge of their makeshift shelter; his knees pressed into the damp dirt floor. He saw his father, Jean-Kiba, sitting just outside through a small hole in the patched plastic wall. The dawn light painted the sky a soft gray, and the morning mist clung to the air. Jean-Kiba sat hunched forward, his face buried in his hands. His shoulders shook slightly.
David blinked in disbelief. His father was weeping. In all his twelve years, David had never seen him cry. Not even two years ago, when their village in the Kasai region of DR Congo was burning and chaos engulfed everything they had ever known. Jean-Kiba had been strong then, carrying David's little brother on his back and urging his family to run faster. But now, in the fragile quiet of the Nakival Refugee Settlement where they had found safety, he seemed to have crumbled.
The boy’s breath caught in his chest. Something must be wrong. He looked around the dim interior of the shelter. ...

Dear Friend,
For the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the inspiring "3P in Africa" movement.
It is a grassroots organization that teaches and shares the "3 Principles" (Sydney Banks) and brings love, forgiveness, and happiness to the people of Africa.
It is mending hearts and healing alcoholism in refugee camps and communities across Uganda, Kenya, and beyond.
I support the cause by sharing my insights and understanding with others there; my first encounter was with Martha.
As it turns out, she is more my teacher than I am hers. Below, you will hear her story.
It will touch and inspire you, and I hope you will see something new for yourself.
This has more to do with you than you might think. Martha's experience is universally human.
(Thanks to her for allowing me to share her story.)
I recently spoke with Martha for the first time.
She lives in Homa Bay, located on the northwest edge of Lake Victoria in Kenya.
Her brown, beautiful, strong fa...
Hello Dear Reader,
I’m excited to invite you to an online event on August 1, 2,024 at 5 pm CEST / 11 am EST. I truly hope you can join us because…
Located in southwestern Uganda and home to 130,000 people, Nakivale Refugee Settlement is one of Africa’s oldest and largest refugee camps.
It covers a vast area and hosts refugees from places like the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, and South Sudan.
Refugees come from areas affected by civil wars, ethnic conflicts, and human rights abuses, seeking safety in Nakivale to escape violence and persecution.
In the camp, alcoholism is a big problem – often linked to the trauma and stress of being displaced and the harsh ...
Hello Dear Reader,
I don’t know about you, but …
Something in me likes to let life unfold, and I often only see the direction it’s taking me as it presents itself to me in real-time.
It’s as if I’m the observer who also gets to participate, watching desires arise within myself without needing to make them happen, but somehow also being part of their happening.
It’s hard to explain. Anyway …
As I observed what I see unfolding in my life right now, one of the big things that appeared was ‘becoming more human’… or rather, ‘showing up more fully as the human I already am.’
One of the surprising paths life led me down this week (which very much fits in with this unfolding) was booking a copywriting training course with Simone Soel.
My dear friend and podcast co-host Lea Wernli has been talking about her for years and I finally get why she likes her so much.
On a Facebook LIVE the other day, Simone was speaking about her motivation for creating the training—her ‘reason why.’
And ...
Hello Dear Reader,
I woke up this morning, put on my swimsuit, and headed to the pool.
While I was swimming my laps, I thought about some questions on my mind.
One question was whether or not to play a game.
Let me explain …
One of my earliest (brilliant) business mentors is currently offering her annual ‘Money Magnet Club.’
It’s a game in which you work toward creating an audaciously large sum of money very quickly.
There are money mindset and money action classes, and a sprint with group accountability.
I was in the masterclass where she presented everything, and it sounded like a lot of fun.
And naturally, my brain was feeling excited about the huge amounts of money people were aiming for.
I pictured my bank account at the end of 90 days, considerably fuller than it is now.
Who wouldn’t want that, right?
But on my swim, I saw something quite clearly.
That’s not the game I’m up for playing at the moment.
Right now, I’ve slowed everything down and I’m playing the ‘Game o...
Hey, dearest Reader! Are you aware of the transformative power of slowing down?
Back in 2015, I launched my signature training program, the "Successful Soulopreneur System." One of the very first lessons I shared with my coaches was simple but profound:
It’s a powerful mantra instilled in Marine Corps Special Operations units from day one of their rigorous training. The idea is that slow, careful movements lead to faster and safer task completion, especially in high-pressure situations.
I recently came across this idea again while reading "The Prosperous Coach" with one of my clients, who is in the process of building her coaching practice.
In a chapter by Rich Litvin called “Slow down to speed up success,” he delves into the space where miracles occur—a space he created by intentionally slowing everything down.
Allow me to share a paraphras...
Dearest Reader, I've been thinking about you and hope you're very well.
I spent last week basking in the sunshine, observing sea crabs and wild ducks, and marveling at the beauty of exotic flowers.
Yesterday morning, back at my desk, totally renewed, and on coaching calls with some of my gorgeous ‘soulpreneur’ clients, I heard myself saying …
And it’s true. Being in life is … well, life-giving … and completely clarifying. It’s like filling your tank with premium fuel from an endless source of vitality and wisdom.
I’m gushing, but I simply want to say this: Remember to BE IN YOUR LIFE. Give yourself permission to be in life, and make it a priority.
Instead of: overthinking your life, yourself, other people's behavior, the state of the world, what's next, where you want to be in your relationships or your business (but aren't), e...
